13.02.2011. celebrated the 100 years football club Hajduk. Makarska is 11.02. held a concert in the city's sports arena. Packed hall entertained the group Iskon, Zorica Andrijašević, Vinko Coce and Percy Sledge

European Basketball Championship U20 in Makarska

This summer Makarska will be one of the host cities of the European Basketball Championship for the age of 20 years.
The Championship will be held at 3 Croatia City: Makarska, Crikvenica i Zadar. The tournament involved 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, 2 groups in Makarska and the 2 groups in Crikvenica, while the final match held in Zadar on Višnjiku.
13th The International Handball Tournament

Every year the last 13 years in June in Makarska is held the International Handball Tournament. This year the tournament begins at the grand opening of 26.06 square AKMiošića at 9.00 and ends 30.06.2010, at 20.30 am awarding medals at the same location. Matches will be played in the new hall and all the auxiliary fields.
Croatia-Russia match of the World Water Polo League in Makarska

Water Polo World League play will be in in the pool City Sports Hall in Makarska 8th December 2009. in 17 hours. Croatian national team and Russia will impose forces on Tuesday, a match will be directly transferred to the Croatian Television HRT2. Tickets can be purchased in advance at a price of 50 kn in the cafe at the Sport City gym.

River Cetina

Originating in the village of Cetina at an altitude of 382m, a total length of 100.5 kilometers. Distance from Makarska 35 km, Max.40 min.vožnje with the car.
River Cetina is one of the most beautiful places in Dalmatia, where you can experience an unforgettable rafting adventure, and enjoy the magic of wildlife.
Rafting adventure usually takes about 3 hours (16 km ride) and ends at Radman's mills, where there is a restaurant located in the open around the beautiful old mill.
Only 6 km downstream the river is connected with the sea in the town of Omis. The town was first mentioned in the 10st. The townspeople are known as pirates, led by Omis pirates were princes Kacici. We recommend to visit: the fortress, the fortress Fortress, the city museum, the pillory and the old city lodge, medieval town, srkva St. Michael's.

Nature Park Biokovo

Situated above Makarska, 1981 was declared a nature park, total surface area of 196 km2. 
The highest peak is Sveti Jure (1762 m).
Park can be visited on foot and by their own means of transport (ticket price if you go by car 35.00 € / person, children under 7 years of age are exempt from paying entrance fees).
The main features of the park is crucial for the designation of Biokovo Nature Park are its geomorphological characteristics, number of karst features, and exceptional biodiversity.
