Summer in Makarska heats up
European Basketball Championship U20 in Makarska

Makarska this summer will be one of the host cities of the European Basketball Championship for the age to 20 years.
The championship will be held at 3 Croatian city of Makarska, Crikvenica and Zadar. Participating in the tournament 16 teams are divided into four groups, two groups in Makarska and 2 groups in Crikvenica, while the final match held in Zadar on Višnjik.
13th International Handball Tournament

Every year the last 13 years in June in Makarska held International Handball Tournament. This year the tournament starts 26.06 opening ceremony on the square AKMiošića at 9.00 am and ends 30.06.2010, at 20.30 awarding medals at the same location. Matches will be played in the new hall and on all pitches.
Croatia-Russia match of the World Water Polo League in Makarska

World Water Polo League will be played in at pool city sports hall in Makarska 8th December 2009th in 17 hours. Croatian national team and Russia will meet on Tuesday, and the match will be directly transferred to the Croatian television HRT 2. Tickets can be purchased in advance at a cost of £ 50 at Sports cafe in the city sports hall.

River Cetina

Originating from the Cetina village at an altitude of 382m, a total length of 100.5 kilometers. Distance from Makarska 35 km, Max.40 min.vožnje with the car.
River Cetina is one of the most beautiful places in Dalmatia, where you can experience a rafting adventure, and enjoy the charms of flora and fauna.
Rafting adventure usually takes about 3 hours (16 km away), and ends at Radman mills where there is an open air restaurant located around the beautiful old mill.
Only 6 km downstream the river is connected with the sea in the town of Omis. The city was first mentioned in the 10st. The townspeople are known as pirates, led by gangs of pirates were princes Kacici. We recommend to visit: Mirabela Fortress, Fortification, City Museum, the pillory and the old city lodge, the medieval town center, srkva St. Michael.
A trip to Omis and rafting is organized every day departing from Makarska, on a trip, you can go to your own vehicle as well as organized vans various agencies.
Tickets for rafting are available in almost all travel agencies in Makarska.
